20:45 Wexford Youths - Dundalk

Pick:  Dundalk
Stake:  6/10
Odds:  2.00
Bookmaker:  StanJames

After nine games unbeaten streak, with seven wins and totally 23 points Dundalk looked untouchable on top. Since then they’ve lost and draw twice and their winless streak now counts three games. In match against Shels they had everything in their hands, but after first minute lead they’ve eventually lost. That was a shock for them, especially as they were a bit better team. In next two games they had goalless draws with Monaghan and Longford. They were better team in both games, but didn’t managed to win. Now, they will host 6th place Wexford Youths.

In my opinion 6th place is the highest Wexford could get. So far they’ve beaten only the weakest teams in league, only draw with Shels might be rated as surprise. In mid week they’ve lost to Kildare, last placed team at that time. Fans that watched that match said it was their weakest performance in the season and todays match it will be their third in seven days. Something semi-pro team isn’t used to. That’s a plus for Dundalk… Neither of teams will have bigger absentees, for Dundalk John Flanagan and Paul Shiels are missing, while Thomas Hawkins and Joey Wadding are absent for Wexford. Good news for Dundalk who didn’t managed to score in last two is returning of their third best scorer, attacker Robbie Martin.

Conclusion: Wexford can be extremely happy with their current position, but they need to search points elsewhere. Dundalk lost their lead with this bad results and coach Gill is under pressure by fans who are unhappy with the results. Wexford was never big threat to them as they’ve won four of five mutual meetings in last two season and i expect their win today as well.

Predicted score: 0:1
